The Masnavi is Rumi’s greatest work and one of the most famous pieces of sufi poetry. It is sometimes called the ‘Qur’an in Persian’. The whole work is 6 volumes of many interweaved stories which cover themes such as divine Love, spiritual ecstacy and the struggle with the nafs. There are many levels of understanding for the sincere seeker.
This event will be an introduction and reading of the Masnavi, (in English) with some commentary on the metaphors and meanings of sufi poetry. Luqman (Daniel) has been a murid in the Zahuri Sufi Order for over 10 years, which is directly connected to the Mevlevi order which began with the followers of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi.
The event will also include a short group dhikr
