تحت رعاية صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير الحسن بن طلال، يشرف منظمة النهضة العربية للديمقراطية والتنمية بالتعاون مع الدكتورة عروب العابد دعوتكم إلى حفل إحياء ذكرى الراحلة البروفيسورة باربرا هاريل بوند، مؤسسة دراسات الهجرة القسرية ومركز دراسات اللاجئين بجامعة أكسفورد، وهي أول مؤسسة في العالم تعنى بدراسة قضايا اللجوء والهجرة القسرية.

سيتم عقد حفل التأبين الساعة السادسة مساء يوم الإثنين 22 تشرين الأول/ أكتوبر 2018 في مركز الحسين الثقافي/ منطقة رأس العين.

وتعد البروفيسورة باربرا هاريل بوند ناشطة مرموقة في السعي من أجل حقوق الإنسان، والكفاح لتحقيق العدالة للاجئين وطالبي اللجوء، وكذلك عملت على تحفيز واستقطاب المهتمين بهذه القضايا للعمل معاً لتحقيق هذه الأهداف. فقد عرّفت باربرا العديد من النشطاء والمدافعين عن حقوق اللاجئين في الأردن والشرق الأوسط على كيفية تفعيل المساعدة القانونية كوسيلة لضمان وصول اللاجئين إلى العدالة وحماية حقوقهم.

تعقد منظمة النهضة العربية للديمقراطية والتنمية هذه الفعالية تقديراً لدور البروفيسورة باربرا هاريل بوند ودعمها وتشجيعها لرسالة المنظمة المتمثلة في توفير خدمات الحماية القانونية للاجئين.

برنامج الحفل:

سيحفل التأبين بكلمة تكريمية يلقيها صاحب السمو الملكي الأمير الحسن بن طلال، تليها كلمة للدكتورة كاتارزينا جراباسكا، منتج الفيلم الوثائقي والذي يشرفنا عرضه بهذا الحفل وبه نستكشف إنجازات باربارا هاريل بوند – كأكاديمية وناشطة في مجال اللاجئين ومدافعة عن حقوق اللاجئين عبر حياتها. حيث ستشاركنا جراباسكا خبراتها ولقاءاتها الخاصة مع فريق باربرا بالإضافة إلى خبرتها أثناء صنع الفيلم. كما يلي ذلك شهادات خبراء بشؤون اللاجئين من الأردن كانوا تعرفوا على البروفيسورة باربرا شخصياً بحياتها. كذلك سيتم الإعلان بختام الفعالية عن إطلاق مؤسسة بربارا هاريل بوند.

نبذة عن الفيلم:

يأخذنا الفيلم في رحلة شخصية لإمرأة غير عادية ولدت في مدينة نائية في ولاية ساوث داكوتا الأمريكية خلال فترة الكساد الكبير. يتتبع الفيلم الوثائقي مسيرتها المهنية منذ بداية انشغالها بالحقوق المدنية في أواخر الخمسينات، إلى انتقالها إلى المملكة المتحدة في منتصف الستينات حيث درست الأنثروبولوجيا الاجتماعية في جامعة أكسفورد، وانتقالها فيما بعد إلى غرب أفريقيا حيث أجرت العديد من أبحاثها الأكاديمية.

تم إطلاق الفيلم الوثائقي بحضور باربرا في اليوم العالمي للاجئين عام 2018 في منزل الملكة إليزابيث في أكسفورد. وكذلك تم بثه في الجمعية الدولية لدراسات الهجرة القسرية في تموز/يوليو الماضي في اليونان، لينقل الفيلم الوثائقي صورة حية لباربرا إلى المؤتمر الذي بدأته، كجزء من عملها المتفاني مع اللاجئين.

Under the Patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Hassan Bin Talal, Arab Renaissance for Democracy and Development-ARDD in collaboration with Dr. Oroub El Abed have the pleasure to invite you to the commemoration of the late Professor Barbara Harrell–Bond (BHB), the founder of the discipline of Forced Migration and the Refugee Studies Centre at Oxford University, the world’s first institution for the study of refugees.

The event will take place on the 22nd of October at 6:00 pm, at Al Hussein Culture Centre, Ras El Ein.

Professor Barbara Harrell–Bond was an acclaimed activist in the pursuit of human rights, fighting for access to justice for refugees and asylum seekers, as well as bringing like-minded people together to achieve these goals. She was the one who introduced many refugee rights defenders and advocates in Jordan and the Middle East to the concept of legal aid as a method of providing access to justice and recognition for refugees.

This event is a recognition Barbara Harrell-Bond’s support and encouragement for ARDD’s mission in providing legal protection services.

Agenda:

The Event will entail an honoring speech by his Royal Highness Prince Hassan Bin Talal, as well as the screening of a documentary that explores the achievements of Barbara Harrell-Bond – as an academic, a refugee activist and a life-long advocate for refugee rights.

Dr. Katarzyna Grabaska, the producer of the documentary, will share with us her experiences of her own encounters and long-standing work with Barbara as well as the experiences while making the film. Testimonies will follow hence after by refugee specialists. The event will also launch the Barbara Harrell-Bond Foundation.

About the Movie:

The film takes us on a personal journey of a not-so-ordinary woman born in a remote town in South Dakota during the Great Depression. The documentary traces her career from her initial engagement with the civil rights in the late 50s, to her move to the UK in the mid-60s where she studied social anthropology at the University of Oxford; and then proceeded to travel to West Africa where she carried out much of her academic research.

The documentary was launched on International Refugee Day 2018 at the Queen Elizabeth’s House in Oxford , with Barbara attending the event. At the recent International Association for Forced Migration Studies (IASFM) in July in Greece, the documentary was screened bringing Barbara in live image to the conference that she initiated, as part of her dedicated work with refugees.
