Reviving the Heritage of the City of Mosul @ Design Institute Amman
Saturday, October 22 at 4 PM – 6 PM
Olaa M. Al Daghestani designer and engineer who acquired her Master degree in Amman, University of Islamic Architecture and Arts where she specialized in the repair and restoration of ancient archaeological sites. Fond of the Iraqi heritage and ancient Iraqi civilizations. The destruction and looting of the archeological sites in the city of Mosul in 2014 derived her to work in order to highlight the cultural and architectural heritage of this city and what it contained from archeological sites and artifacts such as the remains of old Nineveh and Assyria like the city wall , winged bull, city of Nimrud and Kurs Abad. In addition to the Islamic sites such as the Great Mosque of Hadba and Nabi Yunis and the Christian sites such as Church of the Dominican and Matta monastery in addition to many other sites and remains which are all evidence of the massive cultural heritage this city contained. This seminar is simple contribution to revive the heritage of Nineveh, a fundamental part of ancient Iraq heritage
