Imagine a nomad allowing the winds of the desert to transcend his soul into the spheres and plains of the vast universe. His feet firmly grounded as he walks the peculiar yet familiar landscapes, befriending the unknown through a rich soundscape that lights his path, a wandering Bedouin, unearthing home and a new space.

That, in the very essence, is the experience of Ghaem Jozi.

Ghaem Jozi (Arabic for Partly Cloudy) is a microtonal Maqam, indie-tronic audio/visual solo project led by Jordanian producer, guitarist, and songwriter, Odai Shawagfeh. Ghaem Jozi is a constantly evolving live act that explores the essential moment when self, other, and the unknown merge outside space and time.

The elaborate setup embodies Odai’s vision of orchestrating guest artists to manifest his signature sounds and visuals; using installation, percussions, synthesizers, and lyrics. To turn these fragments into powerful and iconic sets that rock both local and regional stages.

This unique blend is at the core of Ghaem Jozi’s mission to invoke nostalgia. Be it by covering songs from the Golden age of Arabic music or by using electronic dance and ambient schemes to reintroduce traditional Arabic scales (Maqamat). Ghaem Jozi is set to share his personal journey with his audience.

The Classically trained guitarist and keyboardist Odai Shawagfeh began his musical journey in 2004

Through his active years (2009 — present), he shared the stage with prominent Jordanian musicians as a guitarist before assuming his role as the founder, composer and lead guitarist of both El Morabba3 (2009 — Present) and Hayajan (2012 — Present)

The accumulation of his individual experiences allowed Odai to create his solo experimental project, Ghaem Jozi. Which saw the light in 2017 following a successful and self-inspiring career in film scoring, composing, songwriting and music production
