To celebrate the release of the latest version of the Mozilla’s open source browser; Firefox Quantum, the Jordan Open Source Association kindly invite you to join us in the public screening of the documentary “Code Rush”.

“Code Rush” follows the people of Netscape Communications during an intense period in 1998, when it was all but certain that Microsoft had already won control of the Internet user’s desktop. When all hope seems fading, a group of dedicated developers work their hardest to push out a very special release.

Note: Public Invitation. Free Entrance. The screening is followed by a discussion about the Openness of the Internet.

احتفالاً بالإصدار الجديد من متصفح الإنترنت من موزيلا – “فايرفوكس كوانتوم” Firefox Quantum، تدعوكم الجمعية الأردنية للمصدر المفتوح للانضمام إلى العرض العام للفلم الوثائقي Code Rush.

يسلّط هذا الوثائقي الضوءَ على فريق شركة “نتسكيب” عام ١٩٩٨، تزامنًا مع أحداث اعتبرت مصيرية لمستقبل الإنترنت آنذاك. وبعدما أصبح من المتأكد سيطرة شركة “مايكروسوفت” على سوق متصفحات الإنترنت، بدأت الآمال تتلاشى شيئًا فشيئًا. في سباق مع الوقت وصراع ضد عمالقة البرمجيات، تبذل مجموعة من المبرمجين أقصى جهودهم لتوفير متصفح جديد -ومفتوح- للعالم.
