مكان مساحة فنيّة (٢٠٠٣) مخصصة للفنون والممارسات الاجتماعيّة المعاصرة. بإثارته فعاليّات داخل وخارج مقرّه في عمّان، الأردن، لدى مكان تاريخ طويل من المداخلات في المساحات العامّة. طوال سنواته الإحدى عشر وفّر مكان منصّة مستقلّة للفنانين والفنانات، والعاملين في الثقافة، والناشطين، وبابه مفتوح دائما أمام المبادرات التي تهتم بالموضوعات السياسيّة الاجتماعيّة، والثقافة البصريّة المعاصرة، وسياسات الغذاء والجندر، والمساحات العامّة. تقوم المجموعة المكوّنة من علا الخالدي وسماح حجّاوي وديالا خصاونه بإدارته جماعيّا، وتعمل عضوات مجموعة مكان في عمّان وسان فرانسيسكو وبروكسيل. في عام ٢٠١٤، يقوم مشروع آرت تيراتوريز، بشغل وظيفة القيّم في مكان، آرت تيراتوريز هو ملتقى إلكتروني شاركت بتأسيسه شروق حرب والتي تشغل بدورها منصب مديرة مكان الفنيّة
Makan Art Space (2003) is dedicated to contemporary art and social practices. Instigating activities within and outside its venue in Amman, Jordan, Makan has a long tradition of public interventions. In the last eleven years, Makan has been an independent platform for artists, cultural producers, activists and community initiatives that examine contemporary visual culture, food politics, gender, and socio-political issues.
Makan is directed collectively by Ola El-Khalidi, Samah Hijawi and Diala Khasawnih, who work in Amman, San Francisco and Brussels, and now recognize themselves as the Makan Collective. For 2014, Makan Art Space will be curated by ArtTerritories, an online publication co-founded by Shuruq Harb who will be acting as Makan's Artistic Director.
