Following last year’s amazing turnout for my Tiny Christmas Market and my absence from the shop for much of this year, (time spent mostly on a ladder painting murals) I’ve decided to put on another event at the Love.<\/p>\n
This year I’m calling it Winter Goodness because hopefully it will feel like winter and all things will be good! I’ve already started the making process and I’m excited to start sharing sneak peeks of new handmade creations over the course of the next few weeks.<\/p>\n
You might be wondering, but why? Why do this instead of just opening the shop on a regular basis and people can choose to come whenever they feel like it? Good question.<\/p>\n
Love on a Bike is a one-woman, one-cat, show. That means I do everything all the time and Bisbis naps. During opening hours my productivity is constantly interrupted when customers stop by. It’s fine most of the time, but in preparing for the busiest time of year I like the continuity I get by closing shop and being alone and creating for ten hours straight. In other words, I become an antisocial cat and it’s best to leave me alone to do my thing.<\/p>\n
Having a set date will also prevent you from coming to the shop before all the art is done cooking. So many times I find myself telling people this thing or that thing is in the works, but sadly not ready yet. Come December 7th, all of it will be ready!<\/p>\n
Another reason is the fact that everything is handmade and one of a kind. By having this event I’m giving people equal opportunity to snatch up (but please don’t shoplift) something they saw on social media and liked. First come first served because I don’t take on commissions this time of year. Fair, no?<\/p>\n
Finally I like making candy and making people eat it and it’s less weird when I do that to a big group of people than if I try to force one person to eat delicious homemade honeycomb. Right? (You still have the right to say no even if everyone else says yes to candy).<\/p>\n
So if you find yourself free come say hi on what I hope will be a lovely winter weekend, maybe try some candy and find something you love to take home to someone you love.<\/p>\n

PLEASE DON’T USE GOOGLE NAVIGATION. There’s a street on there that doesn’t exist in real life and google insists that you take it, DON’T LISTEN TO GOOGLE, many who came before you were forever lost as a result. Go with my directions, I follow them daily and I never get lost.<\/p>\n
Make your way down to Arar Street commonly known as Wadi Saqra street. You’ll pass on your right The Winemaker, followed by Zara Centre, and finally Cairo Amman Bank. Take the right directly adjacent to Cairo Amman Bank, at the following T intersection take a left. Love on a Bike will be on your right, building #23.<\/p>\n
