The Masnavi is Rumi’s greatest work and one of the most famous pieces of sufi poetry. It is sometimes called the ‘Qur’an in Persian’. The whole work is 6 volumes of many interweaved stories which cover themes such as divine Love, spiritual ecstacy and the struggle with the nafs. There are many levels of understanding for the sincere seeker.<\/p>\n
This event will be an introduction and reading of the Masnavi, (in English) with some commentary on the metaphors and meanings of sufi poetry. Luqman (Daniel) has been a murid in the Zahuri Sufi Order for over 10 years, which is directly connected to the Mevlevi order which began with the followers of Mevlana Jalaluddin Rumi.<\/p>\n
