On the 11th of October we bring to you an interactive full-day exhibition celebrating design, craft, and the art of co-creation.<\/p>\n
The Design for Impact exhibition features 15 products, processes, and collaborations. Each one of them highlights a unique craft that revives traditional production methods through a human-centred design process. From furniture to fashion, tableware to travel kits, lighting units to laptop sleeves, the exhibition brings you a variety of products made with impact in mind.<\/p>\n
The singular objects are the result of a 10-week collaborative effort bringing together artisans and designers to explore the roots of the design process and the drive behind creating objects with meaning. Designers began their journey last August by uncovering the secrets of making in the local craft scene. Afterwards, they started building their products and inclusive partnerships with artisans. And now, together with you, we celebrate the final stage of the program, where they tell us all about their journey.<\/p>\n

The Humble Table is a pop-up food experience by Namliyeh. It celebrates irregularity and modestly made items inspired by the local craft scene using raw and natural materials. This orchestrated table experience revives the overlooked traditional techniques of production, putting into use the designed objects in an interactive dinner set-up.<\/p>\n
These unique items give us a fresh appreciation for the art of making while rethinking the impact we create and instill a more humble appetite for the amount of stuff we choose to acquire.<\/p>\n
