Fausta suffers from a rare disease called the \u201cMilk of Sorrow\u201d, which is transmitted \u200ethrough the breast milk of pregnant women, who were abused or raped in times of \u200eterrorism in Peru, during pregnancy. While living in constant fear and confusion due to \u200ethis disease, she must face the sudden death of her mother. Fausta chooses to take \u200edrastic measures in order not to follow her mother’s footsteps.\u200e<\/p>\n
The film was nominated for the Oscar\u2019s Academy Awards in 2010 for Best Foreign \u200eLanguage Film of the Year.
