DESCRIPTION:Join us for the opening event of \nThe End by Raed Asfour\nPart of the Image Festival Amman #6\n23 April 6pm at Al Balad Theater \nشاركونا افتتاح معرض\nالنهاية، رائد عصفور\nجزء من فعاليات مهرجان الصورة عمان السادس\n٢٣ نيسان السادسة مساء في مسرح البلد \nThe End\nA photo collection of cinema theaters that was once part of the city of Amman. It is an attempt at recalling a lost part of the city’s cultural identity which cinema theaters took part in creating during the 80’s and 90’s of the last century. At that point\, there were more than 15 cinema theaters screening various films on a daily basis\, with a Showtime schedule published daily in the local newspapers. There were audiences of all ages and classes\, frequently attending film screenings. Cinema had an important part in creating the city’s culture and in developing its inhabitants’ sense of aesthetics. Cinema theaters in Amman had an old history which began with the city’s establishment\, a witness to a beautiful era gone by.\nWe stand filled with grief and anger in front of photos of closed-down cinema theaters.\nIt is sad and cruel for the city to lose its old theaters\, to stop at ‘The End’ scene. We hope that the beginning scene will one day return.\nThese are the names of the cinema theaters in downtown Amman that I still can recall:\nAl-Fayyoumi\, Dunya\, Granada\, Al Hamra\, Zahran\, Basman\, Raghadan\, Versailles\, Jordan\, Al Khayyam\, Al Hussein\, Al Amir\, Palestine\, Amman\, Al Kawakeb. \nRaed Asfour \nA director\, a scene designer and an amateur photographer\, “The End” is his second exhibition.\nThe idea behind the exhibition came to him after working with a group of artists and cultural activists on the restoration of ‘Cinema Jordan’ in 2005\, which reopened as “Al-Balad Theater”; operating as a cultural center and an independent theater. \nالنهاية\nمجموعة صور عن دور السينما التي كانت في مدينة عمان .. هي محاولة للتذكير بفقدان جزء من هوية المدينة الثقافية التي ساهمت دور السينما في تكوينها في مرحلة السبعينات والثمنيانات ، في تلك المرحلة كان في وسط مدينة عمان اكثر من 15 دار سينما تعرض يوميا افلام منوعة ، وبرامج عرضها تنشر في الجرائد اليومية ، وكان هناك جمهور من كل الاعمار والطبقات يذهب دوريا لحضور الافلام التي تقدم في دور السينما . كانت السينما جزء هام من تكوين ثقافة المدينة وتنمية الحس الجمالي لاهلها ، ولدور السينما في عمان تاريخ عريق ابتدا مع نشاة المدينة ، وهي شاهدة على عصر جميل مضى…\nنقف بكل حزن وغضب امام صور دور السينما المغلقة ..\nمحزن وقاسي ان تفقد المدينة دور السينما العريقة التي توقفت عند مشهد النهاية !! على امل ان يعود مشهد البداية ….. \nهذه اسماء دور السينما في وسط مدينة عمان التي ما زلت اذكرهها :\nالفيومي / دنيا / غرناطة / البتراء / الحمراء / زهران / بسمان / رغدان / فرساي / الاردن / الخيام / الحسين / الامير/ فلسطين / عمان / الكواكب \nرائد عصفور\nمخرج وسينوغراف وهاوي للتصوير ، معرض ( النهاية ) هو معرضه الثاني .\nجاءت فكرة المعرض بعد ان عمل مع مجموعة من الفنانين والناشطين الثقافيين على ترميم سينما الاردن في عام 2005 ، وتم اعادة افتتاحها كمركز ثقافي ومسرح مستقل اسمه مسرح البلد .
