DESCRIPTION:ندعوكم لافتتاح المعرض الجماعي “التعاطف والحرفة في القرن الحادي والعشرين” الذي يسجل اختتام سلسلة من ورش العمل التي استمرت على مدى اربعة اسابيع، شارك فيها فنانون محليون ودوليون للقاء والبحث من خلال الاشكال الفنية المختلفة مفهوم “التقاطعات الاجتماعية” – وهو أننا جميعا نملك هويات متعددة في آن واحد، وبذلك نتأثر بأنواع متصلة من الظلم الاجتماعي والتمييز. وقد صاغ هذا المصطلح، الذي يجري استكشافه بحيوية في مجالات الفنون والنشاط الاجتماعي والسياسي في القرن الحادي والعشرين المحامية في الحقوق المدنية كيمبرلي ويليمز كرينشاو. \nفي الماضي كانت التصنيفات مثل الأجناس والأعراق والديانات والطبقات، تميل إلى تصنيفنا ضمن تسمية واحدة، بينما الامر في الواقع هو أننا اشخاص اكثر تعقيدا. فكيف لنا أن نتعاطف مع بعضنا بعضا بوجود هذه التسميات؟ وما هو الدور الذي يمكن أن يؤديه الفن في خلق التعاطف والتواصل؟ كيف يساعد مفهوم التقاطع بين الهويات الاجتماعية على تحريرنا من الأفكار والأشكال القديمة، سواء في طريقة تفكيرنا أو بما نقوم به؟ أو حتى السماح لأنفسنا باستكشاف أفكار جديدة؟ إن الأعمال الفنية التي تملأ فضاء هذه القاعة في المتحف الوطني الأردني للفنون الجميلة تجسد المحاولات الإبداعية في استخدام الحرفة للبدء في الإجابة على هذه الأسئلة. \nالفنانون المشاركون: علي ياس – أحمد سلامة – بيان كيوان – ديلا الدغليس – ديران ملاتجليان – ايثان مورو – حنان جعبري – خلدون حجازين – لينا صلاح – ميادة ابوقديس – باتي لوبير – سما شحروري – تسنيم جعابو – وجود. \nتنسيق: بات لوبر، ديران ماتالجاليان، إيثان مورو، خلدون حجازين. \nYou are cordially invited to the group exhibition “Empathy and Craft in the 21st Century” which marks the conclusion of a four week series of workshops that invited local and international artists to converge and investigate through various art forms the concept of “intersectionality” – the idea that we all inhabit multiple identities at once\, and are affected by related systems of social injustice and discrimination. The term\, being actively explored in 21st century art and activism was coined by civil rights advocate Kimberly Willaims Crenshaw. \nIn the past\, labels such as gender\, class\, race and religion have tended to label us as one thing\, when the reality is that we are complex beings. How do these labels keep us from having empathy for one another and what role can art making have in creating empathy and connection? How does the concept of intersectionality help liberate ourselves from old ideas and forms\, both in how we think and what we make\, and allow us to explore new ones?
