DESCRIPTION:The Royal Film Commission – Jordan\nin cooperation with the Embassies of Mexico and Brazil in Jordan\ninvites you to attend the screening of\n“A Mexican film and a Brazilian film”\nOn Monday 15th and Tuesday 16th of October 2018 at 7:00 PM\nAl Hussein Cultural Center (Ras Al Ain) \nPublic event\, free admission \nMonday 15 October\nEl Jeremías\n7:00 PM \nAnwar Safa\, 95 min\, Drama/ Comedy/ Family\, in Spanish with Arabic and English subtitles\, Mexico\, 2015 \nSet in the northern state of Sonora\, Mexico\, Jeremías\, a misfit eight-year-old\, realises he is a gifted child and initiates a journey of self-discovery to find out what he wants to be when he grows up. When an opportunistic physiologist makes contact with Jeremías\, a new world of experiences opens up to him\, but for that he is taken away from his ignorant and poor family whom he loves. \n“El Jeremías” is a heartwarming comedy film about family love and the hard choices that come with opportunity. \nThe film has won several awards including: Ariel Award for Best New Actor\, Stories from Abroad Award at Austin Film Festival\, Filmmakers under 30 years old Prize and Press award at Guadalajara International Film Festival and the Audience Award at Mannheim-Heidelberg International Film Festival. The film was premiered at the 30th Guadalajara International Film Festival\, in 2015\, and received nine nominations at the 58th Ariel Awards including Best Director and Best Original Screenplay. It was included in the shortlist for Mexico’s entry to the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards.
