DESCRIPTION:Orient Gallery would like to invite you to Reem Yassouf’s Exhibition “Bedtime Story”\nOn Oct. 5\, at 6:00pm\nExhibition will continue till Oct. 20\nSat- Fri from 10:00am – 7:00pm \nحكاية قبلَ النوم\nلنْ أَرويَّ لكمْ حكايةَ ما قبل النوم ..\nفحكاياتي أَصبحتْ على قصاصات ٍ من ورقٍ صغير، سَكَنَتْها وجوهٌ وأجسادٌ وأصواتٌ، رَفضتْ دخولَ كابوسنا اليومي ..\nورَفضتْ أَنْ ترى الوحشَ، وقَدْ ابتلعَ جنيّات أُمنياتنا المُلوّنة، وحشٌ قَدْ اختطفَ كلّ ابتسامةٍ من وجوهِ أطفالي ،\nوحشٌ غيَّرَ لونَ الأرضِ ، وغيَّرَ صوتَ أمّي وأبي..\nوكلّ رائحةِ من جدةٍ حنونة ..\nفَأخذتُ قُصاصاتي ونَثرتُها للعصافير، ومِنها ما وَضَعْتُهُ تحتَ وسادتي، ووسادةَ أَطفالي، لتكونَ نافذةً لنورٍ، في الغرفةِ المُعتمة ،\nفهناك ..\nثمة أحبةٌ تَنتَظِرنا\nBEDTIME STORY\nI will not tell you a bedtime story\,\nAll my tales are now on tiny bits of paper\,\nBits of paper\, inhabited by faces\, bodies and voices\nOf those who refused to enter our daily nightmare\,\nThey refused to see the monster who swallowed the fairies of our colored wishes\,\nA monster that kidnapped every smile from the faces of my children\,\nEvery scent of a loving grandmother\,\nA monster that changed the color of the earth\,\nChanged the voices of my father and my mother\,\nSo\, I took my tiny bits of paper and threw them for the birds\,\nSome\, I put under my pillow\, some under the pillow of my children \,\nHoping it could be a window of light in the darkened room\,\nBecause there\,\nwe have loved ones that are waiting for us .
