DESCRIPTION:لقاء مع “سيلاس”: حول الفنون الحرّة والتفكير الطوباوي \nضمن برنامج جلسات الربيع لعام 2017 الذي يركز على التفكير الطوباوي وامكانيته، سيشارك كل من مؤسّس “سيلاس” كريم-ياسين جيوسينغر ومديرة مختبر الوسائط بتول الحنّاوي وجهات نظرهما حول تبادل الأفكار في زمن المتاعب، وحول العمل معاً في سياق الاختلاف، ومواءمة ظروف أخلاقيّة وممارساتيّة مكتشفة حديثاً. \n“سيلاس” مساحة للانتماء أو/ و الحنين: الوجود والحنين – مساحة لتبادل الأفكار ذات المغزى، نقطة التجمّع للناس من مختلف نواحي الحياة ليكونوا معاً، ونقطة انطلاق للرؤيا والحنين الجمعي. “سيلاس” أكاديميّة تعاونيّة ذاتيّة العمل يستضيفها برج حمام في حي “الخليفة” الشعبي بالقاهرة. تدعو “سيلاس” الطالبات والطلاب من الخلفيّات الاجتماعيّة- الاقتصاديّة المتنوّعة للتفاعل مع الفنون الحرّة ضمن أسلوب تعليمي استكشافي. \nيقام اللقاء في غاليري مهنّا الدرّة (وزارة الثقافة) بجبل اللويبدة.\nسيكون اللقاء باللغة الإنجليزيّة يتبعه جلسة نقاشيّة. \nTalk by CILAS: On the Liberal Arts and Utopian Thinking \nAs part of Spring Sessions 2017 public programming\, CILAS founder Karim-Yassin Goessinger and media lab director Batool El Hennawy share their perspectives on the exchange of ideas in times of trouble\, working together from within difference\, and aligning a newly discovered set of values and practices. \nCILAS (Cairo Initiative of Liberal Arts and Sciences) is a place of Be(longing): Being and longing – a space for the exchange of ideas made meaningful\, a point of assembly\, for people of different walks of life\, to be together\, and a point of departure\, for collective visioning and longing. \nCo-created in 2013\, CILAS is a self-sufficient scholarly cooperative\, housed by a pigeon tower\, in Cairo’s popular neighbourhood of Alkhalifa. CILAS invites students of diverse socio-economic backgrounds to engage with the liberal arts under a pedagogy of discovery. \nThe talk will take place at the Muhanna Durra Gallery (Ministry of Culture) in Jabal Weibdeh. The talk will be in English followed by a Q&A session.
