خالد لاجئ سوري يتسلل إلى هيليسينكي. ويكشتروم بائع متجول يربح مالا عن طريق القمار ويشتري مطعما. عندما ترفض السلطات الموافقة على طلب لجوء خالد يضطر للتخفي. ويكشتروم يعرض عليه العمل، ويشكل الاثنان فريقا بالتعاون مع الساقية والنادل وكلبه.

Khaled, Syrian refugee stows away on a freighter to Helsinki. Wikström is a traveling salesman who wins big at a poker table and buys himself a restaurant. When the authorities turn down his application for asylum, Khaled is forced underground and Wikström offers him a job, they form a union with the restaurant’s waitress, the chef and his dog.
